Shahirah. Exploring the compass of world music from an early age, Shahirah has a repertoire that has extended her across
vocal genres such as classical, musical theatre, barbershop and ensemble work that has enabled her to tour around the country
and internationally. It is her recent immersion in the field of jazz, which has established Shahirah's versatility as a vocal
performer and as one of Australia's emerging and sought after talents.
Performing a wide range from standards to contemporary jazz, Shahirah also embraces Latin, ballad, soul and blues. Her song
collection explores a variety of languages other than English including Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese. Shahirah also
enjoys arranging and interpreting numbers from the contemporary popular music scene into unique jazz sounds. Shahirah's versatility
and flair as a performer manifests in her interpretation and expression of different styles of songs. She incorporates her own
ability in jazz piano by playing the Korg Synthesizer on stage, and demonstrates her rhythmic finesse by featuring percussion.
